Jacksonville’s Community App is a modern community engagement platform designed to connect residents, local businesses, organizations, and public services across Jacksonville. The application enables users to discover city updates, explore local job opportunities, find upcoming events, and access essential community resources through a single, intuitive platform. Its goal is to strengthen community engagement, improve access to local information, and create a connected digital ecosystem that enhances everyday life for individuals, families, and businesses across Jacksonville.

Challenges

Residents often rely on multiple websites, social media groups, and offline channels to stay informed about city news, community events, employment opportunities, and public services. This fragmented experience makes it difficult to access reliable information quickly and engage with the local community. The challenge was to create a centralized platform that simplifies information discovery while encouraging stronger community participation throughout Jacksonville.

Problems

People struggled to find important city announcements, local events, nearby services, and employment opportunities because information was scattered across multiple platforms. Local businesses and community organizations also had limited visibility, making it difficult to reach residents effectively. The lack of a unified digital platform reduced community engagement and created communication gaps between citizens, businesses, and local authorities.

Our Approach

We began with user research, community analysis, and journey mapping to understand how residents interact with local services and neighborhood information. Based on these insights, we designed a centralized community platform featuring personalized city updates, local job listings, event discovery, business directories, and quick access to essential public resources. By combining intuitive navigation, modern visual design, and community-focused features, Jacksonville’s Community App creates a connected experience that helps residents stay informed, discover new opportunities, and actively engage with everything happening across Jacksonville.
