Yaatrees is a travel planning platform that allows users to create, discover, and join events or holidays

About the Project

Yaatrees is designed to simplify travel planning by allowing users to create travel events, discover trips organized by other travellers, and join group holidays based on their interests.

The platform mainly supports solo travellers who want to explore new destinations but prefer travelling with companions. Users can create their own travel events, define how many travellers they want to join, and share important trip details with the community.

The app also allows users to personalize their profiles based on their travel interests. Using this information, the system recommends relevant trips, activities, and events created by other travellers.

Through one-on-one chat with event creators and group chat with travel companions, Yaatrees makes communication easy before and during the trip.
The goal of Yaatrees is to build a trusted travel community where people can safely connect, plan experiences, and explore the world together.

Challenges

While designing the platform, several challenges were identified in the travel planning process:

Solo travellers often struggle to find compatible travel companions
Discovering reliable travel events created by other users can be difficult
Communication between travellers before joining trips is often limited
Lack of personalized travel recommendations
Safety concerns when travelling with unknown people
Difficulty managing travel information and event details in one place

Problems

During the early research and concept stage, several usability problems appeared:

Users found it difficult to discover relevant travel events quickly
Event details were sometimes unclear when deciding to join a trip
Communication between event creators and participants was not structured
Travellers needed better ways to connect before joining a group
Navigation between events, chats, and user profiles was confusing
Safety and emergency support features were missing in most travel platforms
